What follows is a version of a short thread I posted some time ago on the bad place.
I really believe it gets at something important that I've never seen discussed anywhere. It's simply this: REGARDLESS of what Republicans *say*, there's a powerful reason for them to WANT big deficits. Follow along…
Square are easier to mass produce by machine. And give you an equal amount of pizza in a smaller box (= cost savings)
Trump lies even more than Johnson. But at least he doesn't claim to be Moses, with some special relationship with God.
Trump is amoral. Johnson is immoral.

Mike Johnson shamelessly lies: "We strengthened Medicaid. We improved healthcare access and we lowered premiums with our legislation."
I guess if your grift is brazen enough nobody will challenge it.
But if a struggling waitress working two jobs doesn’t report a few dollars in tips…LOCK HER UP!
One set of laws for the rich and powerful, a different set for you and me.

Trump is head of the DOJ and demanding we pay him $230 million because, though guilty, he forced DOJ to drop the case, and now he is AGAIN a pathetic, whiney VICTIM. L

Every Republican needs to speak up or be asked about this by media. The grifter is grifting.

This is the administration claiming to strip “waste and fraud” from the government

Let them eat pictures of my new ballroom.
What a disgrace.
Coming soon: weddings and bar mitzvahs for the billionaires’ offspring in Trump’s ballroom. It’s the ultimate new status symbol for them. “Daddy, I *need* to have my wedding there! OK, honey.” 🤮

He bulldozed the White House during a government shutdown to build himself a ballroom, then sent a letter to the states saying that SNAP benefits for 42 million people may not go out in November to those who rely on it to eat.

The cheap Versailles redecoration, an attempted throwback to the absolute monarchy of Louis XIV, commencing during a government shutdown fight over stripping health care coverage away from millions of people sounds like something dreamt up by a Democratic consultant.
Chinese carmaker Chery has announced a new solid-state battery with a claimed energy density of 600 Wh/kg—more than double today’s best.
It was probably 25 years ago when the “experts” were saying there were no big advances in battery technology likely on the horizon.

I’ve posted about the Epstein files every day for many months, I write about the Epstein files every day, and we talk about the Epstein files every week on the pod.

And I won’t stop until the full, unredacted (except for victim/witness info) files have been released.

Anyone angry about the bailout of Argentina bc we don't get anything out of the deal needs to realize that many of Trump's powerful friends are HEAVILY invested in Argentinia. It's just Trump using OUR money to make deals to benefit himself & his froends. The Art of the STEAL!

He raped underaged girls.
He raped grown women.
He virtually shat on America.
He’s currently assaulting The People’s House.
Release the Epstein Files.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 79th day out of the last 91.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

With every fiber of my being, I pray the judge presiding of TACO’s case against the DOJ permits someone to intervene on behalf of the people (Marc Elias maybe).

Because DOJ no longer represents the people of the United States. And that is more sand and infuriating than anything.

Steve Witkoff promised to divest of his crypto assets linked to the Trump family’s crypto schemes.

But 10 months in, and he still hasn’t.

So many of these assets involve Middle East countries with an interest in U.S. policy.

The conflicts of interest are massive. We need answers.
What's Johnson's end game? He can't stall forever. Just hoping that SOMEDAY the hubbub over the Epstein files will die down?
Is Trump on the phone to him daily, urging him to stand strong against letting the truth out?

🚨BREAKING: The State of Arizona filed a lawsuit accusing House Speaker Mike Johnson of violating the Constitution by refusing to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva. The plaintiffs argue that Johnson’s delay has deprived hundreds of thousands of Arizonans of representation.

The Mariners' fatal flaw: no *consistent* hitting ability through their whole lineup. The Jays had that in spades.
As an M's fan, I must concede that they probably wouldn't have gotten very far against the Dodgers.
Though their offense has improved a lot, it's still not of championship caliber.
A brain that evolved millions of years ago tries to cope with modern technology.
Try to imagine: WHO is going to actually wade through 11,000 pages of bureaucratese? Some overworked judge somewhere?
This is just a pointless and rather surreal bonanza for lawyers.
our wonderful SCOTUS could wind up *mandating* voter ID. At the very least, Dems should be ready in case this happens.)
Let the outraged comments begin…
