Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year

We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

The whole idea that the WoL doesn't call on Feo Ul. There is no "cold, cruel, heartless" sapling in my canon. My WoL calls on Feo Ul often and with love. Feo Ul understands her better than most. They bonded almost immediately and remain extremely close.

Same for my WoL. She's had so much death in her life, has dug graves for her siblings with her bare hands. Her first love died in her arms. People sticking their fingers in their ears and singing "LA LA LA" so they don't have to deal with death makes her enraged beyond description.

A tweet by a friend made me realize what is, to me at least, one of the most frustrating aspects of people outsourcing their ability to think to AI: it prevents any development of frustration tolerance. Not having to think critically for yourself means you never develop this crucial life skill.

Said "fuck it" and joined a party finder group for the Monster Hunter EX fight. It was fun! I was playing MCH which took some adjustments (I'm a WHM main and getting out of Healer Mode is a Thing) but we got the boss below 50% before we ran out of time. Not bad for a day 1 PF blind prog!
