Even 6 months later, getting to go back to edit photos from Colombia I haven’t gotten to gives me a chance to travel at home!

This was my first international trip for birds! Colombia did not disappoint. The sheer amount and variety of hummingbirds was spectacular!

Respondiendo: ante todo, la idea me parecía guay, pero el resultado me parece aburrido. Seguramente probaría una perspectiva más extrema, un contrapicado, conservando los elementos, jugando con formas más extremas, y una paleta más potente.

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.
A hotdog and pretzel stand with large hanging bottles of mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. The bottoms contain squeeze tubes to dispense the condiments.

For the #BirdofTheDay theme of raptors, I'd like to share one of my favorite bird encounters from this past spring. I was surprised by a Barred Owl landing near my spot in the woods, and then the owl then launched itself at a small rodent below. And yes, it was scarily quiet at close range! 🪶
A tan and light brown striped, medium-sized owl has its wings outstretched in flight as it takes from its perch, a small dead branch sitting only a few feet off the ground.
