In case you wanted to know what “Girl Phantom” would look like if you crossed her with Helen Mirren from 1923. This is a snippet from part 3 of her story my partner and I wrote.
Still waiting on parts 2 & 3 to be released, but here’s Info at www.masoncomics.com.au/phantomfury
Hey I won! Comic Artist of 2025 😵‍💫 Thank you 🙏 Rosie and I read the results announced from the awards dinner in Tasmania. So we paused for a scratch and then got back to work :) Thank you ACA members and peers and congratulations to nominees and winners on the night.
A collage of some of this year’s work of mine that appeared in the Australian Cartoonists Association Stanley Award Yearbook 2025.

Oh, what the hell. 2 NZ ST & kiwi drawings.
She was a great character that got a little more development in the Avon novel & the team fantomen follow ups, I never liked that she just “retired”. We’ve gotten chance to play with an older version of the character; like you said, rare to use an older phantom. www.masoncomics.com.au/phantomfury

Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2
I’d read that 💯✏️🤘

Paul was the artist on Fantastic Four in the 90s and absolutely killed it, but for me as a Swede his prolific output on the Phantom comics are what make him a legend. Ryan didn't JUST work on the American dailies, he also drew several full-length comics stories for the Swedish Phantom comic.
Today is the birthday of artist Paul Ryan (Sept. 23, 1949-March 7, 2016). He worked on numerous titles for Marvel & DC over the years, which included Quasar and a lengthy run on the Fantastic Four, and both the Spider-Man and Phantom newspaper strips.

I Chop It Down with the Edge of my Hand (The Phantom: Vietnam Chp 12)
The Phantom recovers in a village and discovers that he isn’t the only Walker to visit. Just when I think Mason might run out of ideas for this series, he delivers this brilliant chapter. Bonus Julie!

Had a great time in Adelaide last weekend as a guest of #papercuts2025, meeting new comic peers & friends, sharing panel time & hang outs with Nicola & Louie, & catching up with Gary & Christof, Bruce & others. Thank you Owen & Gina for a fantastic time, panel day, talking pictures & markets #comics
We hope you’ll dig part 3 when it eventually comes out, with the hopes we get to do more with Julie down the track. Thank you!
A true legendary actor and political activist has passed. One of my favourites. The Sting, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. The Last Castle. All the President’s men. Spy Game. Brubaker. What a filmography.
Rest in peace, Mr Redford.
Only if deep down they’re fighting the urge not to spit in the food.
