Hey remember all those articles about de-extinction? I have a game about it! Play portions of the last (first?) of a species as it lies dreaming in a lab. Relive your past life. Then escape!

I for one sob and beat my breast at the hubris of it all every time I read the Indie RPG Newsletter

Hey friends, it's a great time to subscribe to Overland! Subscriberthon is on until November 7. Loads of major and daily prizes. Plus you get to support publishing local writers in an increasingly anaemic literary environment: overland.org.au/2025/10/over...

I've been glad to hear that folks have enjoyed this interview. My favorite parts, personally, were Thomas's questions about the differences between solo RPGs and puzzles. And I have been thinking about these questions nonstop since the interview.
I really enjoyed the latest episode of Yes Indie'd from @newmadras.bsky.social interviewing @backwardsttrpg.bsky.social

The conversation on anchors was particularly interesting, I think it's a good framework to look at ttrpg mechanics through

Ithaca in the Cards: Second Expedition is a storygame about doomed travelers on a perilous journey home. It's inspired by The Odyssey, and blackjack, and it's about how you deal with loss and the vagaries of fate as you desperately reach for home.

What rpg has your favorite GM rules/moves/tools for prep?
I just received the legacy version, but haven't tried it yet.

It is not every day that your game is called "the best TTRPG I've read or played all year," much less by one of the best reviewers out there.

I know I've asked a lot recently, but I'd be additionally grateful if you would help me share this review.
Ahaha well we’ll see if it survives
I‘ve realised that a party TTRPG I’ve been working on is basically reinventing Yazeba’s ahaha except this one is in the bush

The haunting is the best time! (Most disruptive to sleep, but fun!)

Southerly journal has returned with a huge lineup of contributors: southerlylitmag.com.au/announcing-s...

My short story 'we find stories in the columns of light' is another fairly nerdy piece of spec-fic inspired by ham radios, camping and cyberdecks.
I may be making a self indulgent OSR fantasy heartbreaker elf game but I promise it’s just for me and maybe my table

The Jays and Dodgers will break for Christmas Eve to share a drink in no man’s land, show each other photos of the family they left back home, before heading back to their respective trenches.
Yesss I used huge wooden jenga for my heist dread game. I love that little extra customisation!

For real prayers for Jamaica
What we're witnessing with #Melissa is ultra rare in the history of known hurricanes in the Atlantic. This level of sustained intensity and feasting on every joule of ocean heat content without any real disruption is incredible.

Not hyperbole: Jamaica is facing a generational catastrophic event.
