I sometimes worry I exaggerate the collective madness of our media but the people who cheered Brexit, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss's mini-budget are now applauding Kemi Badenoch's speech. 'Parallell universe' doesn't come close. I suppose her not falling over is a win of sorts for them at the moment.

I don't doubt your authentic lived experience, I just don't relate to celebrating indiscriminate execution.

Religion can enable people to celebrate and justify the death of others, try and lean toward the teachings of Christ rather than the tone of the Old Testament.

Islamist extremists pretend to represent Muslims (they do not).

The far right are pretending to care about Jewish ppl (they do not).

Extremists by their nature cannot care about anything other than their own beliefs, anything they 'support' is a means to an end. Regrettably, so many people are taken in by this.

Add the collective inability to learn from history and we remain bound by this tragic spiral.
