BANGERS AND MONSTER MASH
Seriously, RTE at Samhain is a fever dream.
This being RTE breakfast telly, they've now segued effortlessly from exploring the veil between the living and the dead to showcasing some lovely pleather skirts.
I'm watching RTE breakfast telly, and a lovely old man is sitting on the sofa telling RTE's equivalent of Lorraine Kelly that Samhain is a time where the living think of the dead and we find light in the darkness, and it's the most RTE moment ever.
Ireland has so much Samhain game.
It's the Puca - a shape-shifting trickster from Irish and British mythology.
It's worth a visit, and you can also explore archaeological sites like Newgrange, the Hill of Tara and the Battle of the Boyne battlefield as they're all within driving distance.

I know it's a cliche to say it, but a pint of Guinness definitely tastes a lot better in Ireland than the version they sell in the UK.
We've all been in social occasions where we felt like that.
Okay, clearly you guys love pictures of the Puca Festival so here's a few more.

I'm pretty sure it's still fun and games.

Just, y'know, for the hare now.
Last night I went to the Puca Festival in Trim, Ireland.

It's all fun and games until someone unleashes a giant demonic hare.

I don't resent poor people who use food stamps to buy another soft drink.

I resent rich people who take away the funds for food stamps to buy another yacht.
Also, wait what? 1400 likes? You lot just love a shapeshifting trickster being, don't you?
Yeah kinda. The Puca is a shapeshifting trickster being that's neither good nor evil. He's just a chaos edgelord.
Incidentally, the mythical Puca (after which the festival is named) is said to shape-shift into a horse. If anyone then jumps on his back, he carries them away to hundreds of miles from where they're supposed to be. Kind of like a pre-modern Google Maps.
I don't think the film makers have explicitly said so, but there's definitely people who make that interpretation.
No plan survives contact with the giant demonic hare

Didn’t know I needed to
see a giant, demonic hare parading down a wet and windy Irish street, to restore my faith in humanity, but there you go.

Calm down everyone. It just wants to be friends. At least that's what he told my mate Dave. I haven't seen Dave since though.

Plus a round of interviews with a couple of Gen Z podcast bros, all of whom come across like the most insufferable guy you went to school with.
I'm old enough to remember when the media was talking about young people flocking to Reform, because I'm over a month old.
🚨 @greenparty.org.uk are absolutely soaring among the youth, polling at an incredible 40%, according to YouGov. 📈

The Greens are 19 points above Labour, the governing party. 💚💥
I'm at the airport waiting to fly to Dublin. There's a stag party with one of them dressed as a leprechaun.

Congratulations mate. You are going to get judged by literally everybody you walk past when you get to Dublin.
