Wenn mein ursprünglich gebuchter Zug ausfällt und ich früher losfahren muss um (womöglich) zur vorgesehenen Zeit anzukommen, brauche ich zwar anderthalb Stunden mehr als geplant, habe aber keine Verspätung. Also bekomme keine Entschädigung. Dafür muss ich am Sonntag um 4 Uhr aufstehen. Klingt fair.
Ohne dass das die Hypothese entkräftet: bei mir genau umgekehrt. Ich mag die unfreiwillige Intimität beim Haarschnitt nicht und schätze den Barbershop dafür, dass die Bros in ihrer straightmaskulinen Coolness auf Smalltalk oder andere Nähebezeugungen verzichten, so dass ich schnell wieder weg kann.

The Flemish government stops the very modest funding for inner-Belgian student exchange between the language communities. The impact on the public budget is negligible. For a student budget, the mobility allowance was still an important contribution. One more ignorant 'Flanders first' gesture.

A school in the Brussels periphery just retracted their support for my student's MA thesis on multilingual parent-teacher communication. The topic has always been sensitive in this region, but many years of Flemish-nationalist ministers breathing down their neck probably didn't quite help either.
"Poeh" is inderdaad al veel beter, maar ik mis nog een equivalent voor "Bahn" want dit gaat uiteindelijk niet enkel over treinen maar over het bedrijf en het systeem met al zijn problemen. Maar misschien verwacht ik te veel van een krantenkop 🙂

I hear 'chocoladebroodje' quite frequently in our university cafeteria. Maybe I'd need to do a more systematic study there. Though there's a risk that diatopic variation quickly turns into diabetic variation.
"Chocoladebroodje" is a frequently used alternative, but both seem quite common to me.
So much so that Belgian/Brussels French borrowed the "chocoladekoek" as "couque au chocolat".
