The important thing to recognize here is that this wasn’t an oversight or mistake from their perspective it was the point— revoking federal support to communities in the most need. They don’t care about any of us when it comes down to it. Like at all.

I think back to those 10 years in Alaska and can’t help now but think of it as a failure. We didn’t know what we were up against. We didn’t know how powerful Citizens United would be for empowering corporate and political obstruction of climate action.

I think this is right: establishment dems are more afraid of the country becoming progressive than they are of it being fascist.

Why? Because progressives come for inequity at its root cause and that impacts elite’s power and portfolios while also benefitting the republican base.

The smears against Zohran coming from the Democratic establishment are also a sign of fear—they’re more scared of the party becoming progressive than they are of the country already being fascist. If Zohran wins, it signals a reckoning. If Cuomo wins, they can keep the failing status quo intact.

The biggest reason I can't take this opinion seriously is because I can guarantee that Mr. Nichols has not written about the dehumanizing language toward trans people all year by Republican politicians. To me, that is far more profane than VP Harris or Mr. Schumer uttering the word "fuck" publicly.
