...and I PROMISE not to "bring in a heap of problems." At this point, l'm waiting for her to call me back... Patients shouldn't be pushed down the line - or straight rejected, which is common with EDS - just bc their diagnosis is unwelcome to physicians.

So then I had to tell her l'm not new to this, that I was diagnosed 15 years ago at Cedars-Sinai; then I had to grovel, saying I'm only coming in for my lower spine pain (which I'm quite sure is ankylosing spondylitis)...

...She went, "Ohhhhhhh... EDS....", and I knew immediately I was about to be blackballed for my condition. She put me on hold for ages, then told me the earliest appt any of these 15 doctors has is mid-May. I asked, "Is this bc I have EDS or because that's your first appt?"

Just called to get an appt at an office with 15 rheumatologists (over 5 locations), and asked for their earliest appt for a new patient. The woman at their office happily said, "No problem! What do you need to be seen for?" I said I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and her tone dropped...
