Can’t remember….and I can’t find any info about it online. I’m certain Carl Craig was interviewed in it but his earliest credit on IMDb is from years later

The BBC did a documentary about Detroit Techno in 1995 n all. It was the first time I heard The Martian’s ‘Search Your Feelings’, and I spent years trying to ID it. I think someone’s uploaded the program to YouTube

It’s clear that the main objective for techbro sociopaths has been to create a female companion without agency, the next step being to incorporate their AI fantasy partner into robots who never say “no”. Creepy fuckers, the lot of them

How does the sequel even work, given that the Grabber died in the first one? Let me guess….he’s a ghost or it’s Hollywood’s favourite franchise fallback: a prequel

Guarantee it’s the type of twat who thinks Red Dragon is better than Manhunter

Saw Ethan Hawke describe The Black Phone as “a film everybody loves”, and I take issue with that

That has made me furious

Famous dud, “Brian Cox’s Manhunter.”
“The universe surrounding the
adaptations of Hannibal Lecter books is both rewarding and soul-crushing. There are some real duds, such as Brian Cox's Manhunter, the 1986 adaptation of the 1981 novel Red Dragon. But there are…”

My mum’s workplace is forcing her to use AI to transcribe HR interviews and, because the company is registered in Wales, it translates an English interview to Welsh, with no option otherwise. I’ve never known a more useless technology to be forced upon us so invasively in all my life

That’s the thing…Little Fluffy Clouds is imho quite bland compared to UFOrb, Assassin, Orbus Terrarum…so it all feels a bit “safe” returning to that style

It didn’t grab me when I saw it years ago but a recent rewatch had me mesmerised by its dreamlike atmosphere. The attention to detail draws you into the uncomfortable, inescapable sensory experience
paulsdmcr.bsky.social
I admit there’s not much in the way of plot, which is why I found it underwhelming at the time. Recent viewings had me appreciating it as an experience; the tone and texture and all that filmponce stuff

It’s not you, it’s them. They just don’t have the same inventive, world-building approach to sound anymore

iTunes bargain heads up. A film for audio geeks, about an audio geek. Much like one of those nightmares you have about being at a workplace where everything and everyone feels wrong. Not for everyone, but I bet David Lynch loved it. Very good soundtrack by Broadcast, too
