Mind stuck on that - the blood, the noise that has quieted to a whimper at most -, Wolfwood approaches without meaning to at first, following the instinct to get close and fully grasp what he's looking at. The soft, fluttering growths that cover every ich. The filth that clings to what must've once been as pristine as the facility around them. The miserable, /living/ motion of this... being where it curls inwards as to protect a most vulnerable core.

From its back grow malformed limbs: Wings upon wings upon wings, otherworldly and grotesque yet distinctly beautiful. An angel worthy of standing in the presence of God.

Mouth gone bone-dry, Wolfwood can barely find his voice to speak.

"..Vash?"

Right to left. Wolfwood, Vash and Roberto walking towards the left. Wolfwood gets surprised hearing a whistling. In between the crowd, hazy under the heat, an older, bigger in every way Wolfwood stands in the middle. There’s a close up, where he stares DOWN, menacingly.

Wolfwood is drained of all color, chilled to the bone. Then Vash calls— “Wolfwood?”. WW jumps, Vash is concerned. “Are you ok—“ “Yeah, just—“ and nothing is there anymore, the moment melting in the crowd. “…it’s nothing. c’mon, spikey”, WW spits, resuming smoking after the initial shock. Vash stares at him quietly, unreadable expression.

I cannot recommend you enough to install the Wikipedia app on your devices and use it like you would any search engine. Nowadays they even have tabs so you can open many articles at once.

And, if you can, please donate to the foundation. It has survived the internet enshittification that way.
