Comic Frontier is humans talking to humans. I’ve spoken to Grant Morrison, Mark Waid, Annie Nocenti and so much more. I don’t make money on the site at all. I just love the comics arts! Please consider supporting human work. Patreon.com/Comicfrontier

I always love chatting about this run. The New 52 Batman was a hugely formative series in my comics journey, and each arc is so much fun to analyse and dissect!

Now... if anyone wants to invite me onto their show to discuss Superheavy, that would be fun.

For those interested in my coverage of the new Ultimate Universe, here's a video I made last year on Ultimate Invasion and the initial launch of the new series.

Please be aware I work on at least 3-4 different scripts at any given time, so don't expect this to be my next video.

My plan has always been to do a big Ultimate retrospective in December to coincide with Endgame, and that'll likely stay the case.

Tomorrow, we’re sitting down with @owenlikescomics.bsky.social to discuss @ryannorth.ca ‘s first vol of Fantastic Four. At the end of issue 1 Ryan gives us his four guiding lights of the book (below). This narrative and artistic ethos is one reason why this book is a damn modern classic. #comicsky
Text that reads:

1. The Fantastic Four are fun.
These are people who know they can help people and are here to do exactly that. No angst, having super-powers rules!
2. The Fantastic Four are adventurers.
Exploring the unexplored is fun and gratifying. The unknown and the impossible are crazy interesting!
3. The Fantastic Four can do anything.
If we want to recapture the feeling of the FF as they were in the '60s where anything could happen, we have to let what's come before be there to inspire stories but not limit them.
4. The Fantastic Four are accessible.
This is a comic for people who've read every Fantastic Four appearance since 1961, but it's also one that welcomes people who have never read a single Fantastic Four comic betore or even a single Marvel comic. While we have deep-cut references to what's come before, you won't feel left out if you don't know it, because this is a comic for everyone.

Wishing all my friends and colleagues a fun time at NYCC!

I'm very sad I can't be there this year, but I hope everyone has a blast.

Dear YouTube: It's bad enough I have to compete with AI slop, but to have the platform accuse the channel of being anything other than human generated is insulting. SBP is written, edited AND narrated by a single human. Do better.

‘What are they fighting for?’ Seems appropriate for today.

I'll reluctantly admit it... this image goes incredibly hard.

read some comic books this weekend. All of life's riddles are answered in the comics.

There are also a lot of similarities and parallels between this story and All-Star Superman (both in how it depicts grief and death in the fictional world, and the context behind Starlin and Morrison's inspirations for writing them).

This is the first time I've read The Death of Captain Marvel in maybe a decade, and I forgot just how powerful it is. A beautiful, poignant meditation on grief and the inevitability of death, which was such a stark departure from how death was depicted in comics at the time.
