Agree. Online behavioral data may be an affordable alternative option for longitudinal data, but uses can depend on the nature of the theory. I most often see agenda setting being engaged with social media data but less so other media theories.

I’m not a fan of articles that summarize findings as “nuanced”—if you can’t explain it in a nutshell, how do you expect your readers to do it?
A milestone in my AI matchmaking research: after seeing some pattern in earlier interview and survey studies (Hu 2024a/b; Hu & Wang; Hu & Zhan), me and Erika tested the self-fulfilling prophecy of algorithmic beliefs w/ experiments. More to come! Grateful for folks' support. Happy to chat more!
