wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

BY THE WAY

If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

the powers that be want you to know less about your computer. they are taking away your beautiful file pathing, keyboard inputs, considered mouse clicks, and expertise of your OS. everything will soon be done by mumbling into the open air and praying it works correctly. this is a nightmare.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Here we go, @baltimorecomiccon.bsky.social is this week! Find me at table 519 as part of the Family Alley for books and talking about writing middle grade stories, I’m also bringing the last of the En Voyage stock for super sale as we gear up for the release of The Library of Memories!✨
I'll try to update with a new photo once the print has been completed and cured. This has been a fun trial for creating useful items in 3D and utilizing our 3D printer!

We should have these ready to use for Baltimore Comic Con this weekend, so if you're attending, keep an eye out!

I forgot to take into account the depth of the stacked shelves though, so upon printing, we realized the design would need to be updated. I've updated the 3D file, and will be putting out a new print today (hopefully). Although I probably won't bother with the text for this run.

Here's a picture of us testing IRL. I got the angles right for the main slot, and the stick seats well too! Overall, pretty happy with it, just wish I'd realized about material amounts while it was printing.

I set up a print so that we could get 4 done at a time, but I didn't realize how much resin it would take to print, so when I checked on the final print last night I found out that the last 3rd of the print was incomplete. Enough printed to test it out, the text just wasn't fully legible.

[3/X]
I knew I wanted to make something that slotted over the backs of the shelves, and it had to be universal enough considering there were slight differences between the shelf types she uses.

I started mocking up a design in Blender with the intention to print it out in resin.

After a few tabling events this year with @mustachebabs.com and her new shelves, I had been thinking of some ways to help with displaying her pricing signage. We'd just been using masking tape to attach them to shelves, and I thought there was a better solution for it.

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

I'd love to also keep working on my personal research efforts and other hobbies that interest me, but having a portfolio ready just in case seems like the smartest play.
