I think the next evolution of Souls type combat is to go more HEMA with it and introduce binding. Give each weapon family a whole suite of things they can do from the bind, on both offense and defense.

I stuck Bazzite on a spare SSD and was pretty impressed tbh. Still had issues with HDR, text rendering, and using my various peripherals. For someone less picky than me, it could be ready for primetime.

Thinking about the training GM Canards from Ecole du Ciel... I really like Yoshinori Sayama's designs for EdC in general, but I love this friend just for lacking a traditional head and instead just having a weird large sensor package up there.
