Why? It's not as if he's the only one running against her. There are 9 folks in the primary. The frigging governor is running, too. Think: there are only 100 US Senator and Maine only gets 2 of them. They have incredible power and influence & are hard to dislodge once elected. Why *not* be picky?

There's no way this fool survives the attack ads that are coming down on him. If he wins in primary, it'll start all over again in the general and then Maine will be stuck with Susan Collins until she croaks. He should spare his family the humiliation, but I'll bet you a Confederate dollar he won't.

Myup. Hell, I'd argue that this moment has been coming since Nixon got away with Watergate. When the leader of the country can swear to uphold the laws and then get away with breaking them, there is no chance that ambitious criminals won't try to take advantage of that fact.

I mean, if I was a lady who met him at a bar and then spent upwards of 10 minutes looking up at the symbol of the Waffen SS as he pumped away, I'd bring it up. The fact that he wasn't prominent doesn't mean he was invisible. He had friends and family. No way that none of them saw it for what it was.
