Welp, guess I need a pinned post. I write stuff, I have a Patreon, I edit freelance, and here's the thread about the time I started an antifascist hallway riot in the third grade. Raise a jelly nougat to Granddad!
Okay, so at the request of the lovely @trance.bsky.social , I'm going to tell a story about what happens when a shitty person is "just joking", and then discovers there are consequences.

AKA That Time Kat Started An Antifascist Hallway Riot In The Third Grade.

Grab your beverage of choice.
I hope she got to chase it many, many times.

you get actors like Alec Guinness despising their genre work, or like Jeremy Brett being massively screwed up by it, and then you get Christopher Lee calling his cat Renfield.
Christopher Lee with his cat, Renfield.
Ah, the "live long enough to deserve a chance at life" plan. I know it well.

I feel like the people conducting these studies have never been the only one who does anything on a "group" project. Of COURSE adding an extra incompetent dumbass to the team and insisting that the one worker compensate for them too would slow that worker down!
"But when the team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20% slower when using AI than when working without it. Researchers were stunned. “No one expected that outcome. We didn’t even really consider a slowdown as a possibility.”

Forget all the bs you're dealing with and enjoy an urban Minneapolis turkey. This one was on the tracks at the ADM plant on Hiawatha. He didn't give a fuck. People had to drive around him. Be the problem you want to see the in the world.

Is this my beautiful house? Is this my beautiful life?
Two books for spooky season:
COFFIN MOON, Keith Rosson: Best modern vampire story ever (although it's set in the 70s).
THE TWISTED ONES, by T. Kingfisher: It lures you in with chatty good humor (especially about NPR Pledge Week) and a lovely dog...then slams the door and bites you in the dark.
(No, I can't take her myself. Her majesty does not tolerate the presence of other small to midsize vertebrates.)
Omg someone adopt this perfect bloodthirsty murderbaby and post a million photos and videos of her. I need them.
Vampire is available to adopt in LA or Orange County!

2 weeks ago I found a small kitten trapped in the middle of a busy intersection. Now she's 6 weeks and ready to find her forever home.

Adoption application available on VIDA. Dm if you have questions about her! www.petfinder.com/cat/vampire-...
I learned how to quilt over the autumn and winter of 2020. 😂 I was specifically in need of a distraction from my anger that someone with covid had gone to visit my best friend and her newborn daughter, unmasked, with predictable results. Sometimes you just need to stab.
But would she stab a Nazi? Or, more importantly, someone who threatened to ruin a quilt?

Good Lord, what madness rules in brain-sick men,
When for so slight and frivolous a cause
Such factious emulations shall arise!
And she would absolutely shank somebody if she decided it was necessary.
I didn't even have time to explain that I had committed a terrible sin.

I need one of these with a picture of The Librarian that says OOK.

@onbearfeet.bsky.social @kathleen.loadingreadyrun.com
I saw a tragically AI-generated version of this poster, so I have recreated a 100% human-made version for all your protest sign needs.
Also, I need one with a Feegle saying "Nae King" (and another, of course, saying "Crivens!")
I created a monster when I introduced you to the Librarian.

I'm so proud.

Thanks! We put this to good use. The one in the middle was made by my youngest ❤️🐸

True, it's unusual. The traditional activity is knitting.
Tell me you've never been to a quilting guild without telling me you've never been to a quilting guild.

Quilters are patient, strategic, and filled with the controlled rage necessary for a million precise stabbings.
The Venn Diagram of protestors today who would count as hardcore antifa that are ready to take up arms for the revolution and people whose primary hobby is quilting would be interesting to see.

This post is funny, but it just shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the history of feminine labor and craft.

Spinsters dismantled the Spinning Jenny by hand. Suffragettes used acid and bombs to attack politicians. Militant textile workers went on strike by the tens of thousands.
