Behold the Conceptronic IDE/SATA/eSATA controller card. It has a VIA chipset, supports 2 devices on the IDE side of things and will work with both harddisks and optical drives.

Normally it'd be a 10/10, until you plug in an IDE cable and find out you can't use the adjacent slot any more. FFS...
