Why don't they just refilm the missing serials? Low budget, you already have scripts, set bluprints, production photos, and camera blocking. I'm sure there's actors who would be game to play the parts. Hell, tie it to the Children in Need charity. Make it a fun annual thing.

Tell me your most unhinged Doctor Who opinion. I mean, if you’re a fan, they’re likely all unhinged anyway.

Shocktober 2025 sinks its teeth into Raw (2016), Julia Ducournau’s visceral coming-of-age horror. Garance Marillier stars as Justine, a sheltered vegetarian entering veterinary school. www.projectionboothpodcast.com/2025/10/epis...

The seventh door of the Crestwood House is open, but it’s secretly hidden in a closet that smells of tannis root & leads to a discussion of secret devil cults! This week @shawnrobare.com, @michaelmay.bsky.social & @paxholley.com chant about 1968’s Rosemary’s Baby…

Your reminder that the podcast I’m part of is doing our annual event of ~8-10 minute discussions of October-appropriate films in alphabetical order from the 6th through Halloween!

Some are great! Some, like this 70s TV William Shatner film, are… things we’ve seen! 😅

it is disorienting when you lose someone who you navigate your life to, like a star blinking out of the night sky.
a life lived in fearlessness, she carved out space for so many of us.

I love that for the film The Counselor, they brought in another writer not to rewrite McCarthy, but just to reformat his wall of text pages into something the cast and crew could read.

I heard tonight that Christopher Mills has passed away. I did not know him well, but I did work with him on a couple projects (most notably, Femme Noir #1). He was always a gem to work with. May his memory be a blessing, and may his comics live on and on.

I only wrote about 100 comics in my so-called career, but now that I'm dying, I'm grateful that I got to do even that. Comics are such a wonderful medium, and they've always meant so much to me.

I remember that I watched that film, but don't remember anything about watching it.

Film novelizations deserve appreciation as a literary skill not everyone can pull off.

(2/2) but also makes it as poignant now as ever. Unlike similar films that used nudity and violence for exploitative revelry, this uses them to bluntly confront the audience with the reality of torture, and governments who only listen to the truths they tell you to say. #Filmsky

(1/2) 4 stars. A heavy but honest watch about the infamous witch trials, their willful brutality, opportunistic hypocrisy, and grotesque misogyny on full display. Doubles as a critique of persecution under modern authoritarian governments, which got it banned for a few decades... #Filmsky

Hearing we lost Christopher Mills today. I discovered his work through Tekno Comix, which led me to his many blogs and getting to interact with him directly, and we even got to have him guest on Greystoked. He truly loved the worlds he got to create in. He will be missed.

On The File Room this week we discuss “Memento Mori.” The X-Files starts to grapple with Scully having cancer, and we try to determine if that successfully grounds the mythology in character, or if the mythology distracts from any attempts at genuine emotion

The pea scene is magnificent.

3 stars. It runs too long and the chronology gets confusing in the first half. But it's an effective early wave found footage flick, with a more capable and grounded lead than usual, some nice humor and meta layers, and when the climactic scares come, they're effective. #Filmsky
