Good news: Itō Shiori's BLACK BOX DIARIES, her documentary about her sexual assault case, will finally air in Japan over a year after its release. The screening was delayed after some challenged whether Itō had the rights to air certain footage.

Now that I think about it, it's rather apt that Twitter is now known as "X" because when you consider the symbol "X" (not the alphabet) in Japanese, JP people would typically think of ❌ (as in バツ、バッテン、ペケ) which is a symbol for wrongness and other meanings in the general direction of "failure".

My absolute favorite thing about Rise of Skywalker is the character Ochi (who you won't recall because he's barely mentioned/featured but he ties the ENTIRE forward momentum of the plot together)

This is someone's explanation of Ochi and what he did

Ochi is a "Jedi hunter"/Sith loyalist who Sheev, who must have been alive since at least 15 ABY or so, sent out to capture his granddaughter. He found Rey's parents on Jakku but they sold (!!) their daughter to Unkar Plutt to protect her, then he captured them and took off in his ship (even though Rey was standing RIGHT THERE YELLING AT THE SHIP TO COME BACK). When he couldn't get the parents to speak about Rey's whereabouts, he killed them with his ceremonial dagger, which he had specifically carved to visually demonstrate the location of Sheev's Wayfinder within the wreckage of the Death Star if you hold the dagger up at a certain angle and stand on a certain spot of land. For some reason. He also inscribed on the dagger in the Sith runes the coordinates to find the DSII pieces. He then went to Pasaana, for some reason, and Luke and Lando were chasing him presumably because he's a Jedi hunter and he knew the way to Exegol, which they wanted to find for reasons, but he died when he stepped into quicksand outside his parked ship and got eaten by a snake.

Part of a massive mall complex that replaced the only remaining green space in the Shibuya Station area, with most visitors unaware that a real-deal, actual Showa-era yokocho is right down the pathway. Yeah, gonna say the association between the "Faux-kocho" and Airbnb is just a little on the nose.
