Gold in 2028 is another stated aim. He’s v patriotic I think. I’m sorry I can’t remember his name, but a 40 year old English solicitor beat him in a charity Slovenian hill race a few days ago, with a six minute start. He must still be buzzing.
There is some tension there. His stated biggest aim is winning P-R, while UAE are clearly nervous about him in that race. But you’re right. The compromise would be giving him 2026 to do basically whatever he wants on the understanding that he must commit to the Tour in 2027.
I think he would like to do the Giro Vuelta double, or probably preferably just the Vuelta. He doesn’t seem to enjoy any stage racing atm. His team wouldn’t be happy.
Coincidentally I’ve been (re) reading CMJ’s book on the 1974 Tour to the West Indies this morning. He notes then that Hendrick needed an extra yard of pace. He didn’t play in any of the Tests.
A while ago @noturtlesoup17.bsky.social addressed this and said that while many PBs might want to join ICE most of them are basically unemployable. And she know more about the Proud Boys than most. My bad if my recollection is incorrect.
A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.
