Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

Many survivors feel shame about how our symptoms get in the way of "adulting"-- but you need to know tasks like paying bills, being on time, car maintenance, & even basic hygiene often trip the "Big Three" CPTSD triggers: feeling controlled, trapped, or "in trouble."
No shame.
No shame.

Realistic trauma recovery begins w/ the commitment to not judge our pain or struggles by what we imagine or think we know of other peoples' experiences.
What they do or don't struggle w/ has zero bearing on what WE need to achieve safety & stability today.

Relating to ourselves w/ kindness & respect is going to feel cringe until it doesn't. Listening to & caring for our body w/ compassion & acceptance is going to feel unfamiliar until it doesn't.
Don't quit your CPTSD recovery habits because they're still in the awkward stage.

Many trauma survivors feel conflict when we realize what makes "them" happy or what "they" think of as a "successful" life is just never going to do it for us. We've been programmed to assume that means there's something wrong w/ us-- but there's not.
It means we woke up.
It means we woke up.
