The thing is, it's not like this is a new idea. There are plenty of B2B and trade news outlets that are by and for their respective industries and friendly to subjects by default. But, these don't have a broader audience among normies because ... why would they?

What's something that isn't considered embarrassing but you think it should be?

That's a shame. While I was going to AU in the late aughts there was no where better to have your eardrums blasted in while completely losing track of who you came with and spending too much money on drinks. Twas a magical place.

Democrats has a trifecta in 2021 and did not do any of these things. Maybe Dems should be taking notes on power politics here.

Thune: "If the Democrats had won the majority, they probably would've tried to nuke the filibuster. And then you'd have four new senators from Puerto Rico and DC, you'd have a packed Supreme Court, you'd have abortion on demand ... "

The Dem party establishment has also been outright hostile to nearly every young candidate that has built their own grassroots support structure: AOC et al, Mamdani, etc.

Same. It's also kinda odd that no one is talking about regulating this? Seems like a crackdown wouldn't be that hard. Probably a small number of players using the same tools.

The Chiefs going 12-0 in one-score games last year and 0-3 this year is a clear omen the gods have abandoned them. It should be treated the same way ancient peoples treated solar eclipses and floods. They must sacrifice Harrison Butker at sunrise to rid themselves of evil

There are probably comics on the list for whom the Riyadh gig was life-changing money, and I get that. For them, it's not unlike doing a dumb, over-paid corporate gig.

But for those like Burr, who are set, I expect a little more leadership on behalf of the profession.

I've had mixed thoughts, but none of the defenses of doing this gig hold any water to me.

I like Bill Burr, but, my dude, no one is preventing you from traveling and experiencing the world without being paid millions to censor yourself and whitewash bad regimes in the process. Grow up.
