Oh, yeah. That’s a good one.

No hate! I genuinely like your stuff!
I like Michael, but (a) this is precisely the wing that members of the public visit, and (b) it’s wild to say this not even a week after a huge number of liberals turned out to protest the fascists over stuff that *isn’t* the White House or Jimmy
i've been informed that the east wing was built during the 1900's so i messed up. i take everything back. i stand with jimmy and i stand with buildings that none of us will ever be invited into.
the real issues that drive liberals to action are suspending Jimmy Kimmel and demolishing a part of a house built by enslaved people.
Dammit, the first thing you see in the credits is “Written and directed by Stephen Sommers. In memory of my dad.” So now I feel like a dick for hating on it at all.
And now VAN HELSING. I’ve never seen this but I’ve watched a lot of retrospectives and somehow I never learned that Van Helsing is introduced in a straight-up ripoff of LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN (the comic)
The “very particular” thing would I guess be the CGI and the halfhearted aping of INDIANA JONES.
Or maybe not; it was a decade before PENNY DREADFUL did something similar, but better.
This is a movie that could only have existed at that particular moment in time.
Ok, but sex and cartoons aren’t mutually exclusive. Or did I hallucinate FRITZ THE CAT?
Gen Z wants more animation and less sex onscreen, according to a Teens & Screens survey, Variety reports.

Preference for animated content over live-action jumped from 42% from last year to 48.5% this year and nearly 48% of 19-24-year-olds also preferred animated content.

One of my future projects, if I can ever break it, is a comprehensive tying-together of SALEM’S LOT, PEYTON PLACE, and KINGS ROW.
Maybe it’s a bias on my part, since I do think SALEM’S LOT is a great small-town novel, but it deserves the epic treatment. This movie ain’t it.
If ever a movie *needed* to be three hours long, it’s this one.
Since my spooky season viewing seems to be vampires this year, I guess I’ll finally check out the newest version of SALEMS LOT.
Much as with religion, it’s a shame that the loudest voices calling for “virtue” have been from the right. Turns out, a little virtue is a good thing.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the last several months, and Graff nails the thought: “It turns out, in the end, that there’s only one check and balance that actually matters: Good character. Everything else in a constitutional system follows and relies on that simple foundation.”
The destruction of the East Wing is a reminder that America has violated the only check-and-balance that actually ends up mattering: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/the-only-c...

They say younger people aren’t horny or sincere about cinema anymore but my faith is rekindled by all the 5 star it made me cry and we want to fuck the monster / Victor / the movie itself reviews of @realgdt.bsky.social’s Frankenstein on @letterboxd.social
I adore the novel and I liked a lot about the first adaptation, though it’s far from perfect. I’ve heard nothing good about this adaptation. (Never saw the second)

Seriously.

So many people seem to think Moffat was criticizing isolation rules during COVID when it's VERY OBVIOUS to anybody with a modicum of media literacy that it was on the contrary, a rather vicious takedown of Tories who told people to follow certain rules and then did the complete opposite
I keep seeing people mad that the Doctor said something about isolating during COVID that mocks it. Were y'all just staring at your phones during the episode? Did you miss THE ENTIRE CONTEXT of it? Here's a hint. Sometimes, in drama, people (gasp) say things they don't think. #DoctorWho
And, listen, I wait for sales and such because there’s no sense not to. But I’m willing to pay full price when it comes to it
