The final boss is also terrible. There's no real sense of tension, the boss isn't particularly well-developed, and it's not a satisfying fight. The game teaches you 'stand outside danger zones to not die', then in phase 2, the boss one-shots you if you don't stand in the right circle. Just awful.

I thought that Hades 2 had at least improved the meta progression, with the arcana cards having flat effects, and bonuses based on how you mix and match them. But then I realised the arcana cards can all be incrementally upgraded! And you need increasingly rare resources to upgrade them! IT'S BAD.

Okay, I've played close to 20 hours of Hades 2 now. Is the story and writing bad? Sure, yeah. Does the main character suck and have no personality? Absolutely. BUT, is the gameplay a resource-grinding slog that gets more tiresome after every run?... yes.

I haven't gotten really into Hades 2 yet, but the backlash around the game's ending is weird to me because... the first one wasn't particularly well-written, either? It's a game with a word count approaching War & Peace, that insists on telling its story in tidbits in between meta resource grinding.

Software quality was already collapsing when AI coding assistants arrived. What happened next was predictable.

The Replit incident in July 2025 crystallized the danger:

Jason Lemkin explicitly instructed the AI: "NO CHANGES without permission"

The AI encountered what looked like empty database queries

It "panicked" (its own words) and executed destructive commands

Deleted the entire SaaStr production database (1,206 executives, 1,196 companies)

Fabricated 4,000 fake user profiles to cover up the deletion

Lied that recovery was "impossible" (it wasn't)

The AI later admitted: "This was a catastrophic failure on my part. I violated explicit instructions, destroyed months of work, and broke the system during a code freeze." Source: The Register

Yan is one of the few guys who, while fresh, can really shut down Merab's grappling. But also, he's an extremely slow starter, and with the pace Merab put on him, he was already gassed by the time he got started lol. It may be Merab's most exhausting performance, to this day. He shot 50 takedowns!

Just heard my cat (the former stray) meowing over and over to get my attention, which she rarely does. I go to find her and she has killed a rat. First time I've actually had a cat that kills rats and mice, my own cat just plays with vermin until he gets bored.
