We just sat down with AZ AG Kris Mayes moments after she filed a federal lawsuit over MAGA Mike's refusal to swear in Rep-elect Grijalva.

Mayes didn’t mince words: “There’s no legitimate reason. Except, of course, that she said she would be the last vote needed to release the Epstein files."
Exclusive Interview: Arizona AG Kris Mayes SUES Over MAGA Mike’s Refusal to Swear In Grijalva
In an exclusive interview moments after filing the lawsuit, Mayes tells Ben Meiselas this is “taxation without representation” and a constitutional crisis in the making.

Mass protests are only one tactic in use—they’re part of a wider effort to organize as many people as possible to take more strategic, coordinated, and targeted actions at pillars that hold up the regime.

It shows people they’re not alone and is a vital early step to building community resistance.
Writing up my thoughts on this into a long piece. The one thing that worries me is that large scale protests in competitive authoritarian regimes often precede authoritarian consolidation rather than a reversal of autocracy. Russia, Hungary, Turkey also saw large protests before backsliding further.
Can I ask, what did the No Kings protest actually accomplish? I mean, in real terms, what have these protests materially changed? I can't help but feel these one off protests are merely a heatsink for energy and anger rather than a path for meaningful change and disruption of the system.

It seems Glenn Beck and his ilk are preparing their followers for two possible futures: a) permanent and complete GOP control of the federal government or b) massive resistance to a Democratic victory that will make J6 look like a garden party. One thing they’re not prepping folks for is democracy.

I would like to know what construction company agreed to destroy a building owned by the American people because they should be charged with the crime of destroying an historical building

Donald Trump’s administration doesn’t respect the Constitution.

But they’re learning that Illinois does not and will not bow under their tyranny.

In a senile moment, Trump ADMITS that maybe the $230 million he's extorting from DoJ might PAY for his fukukta Ballroom.

What happened to all those generous donors?

Yeah. 👖 on 🔥.

Is there anything that says she has to rule quickly here? Can she Judge Cannon this and just sit on it until the 9th circuit full(er) panel weighs in? @stevevladeck.bsky.social
UPDATE: Immergut gives DOJ 'til noon PT Thursday to respond. We might have en banc vote results by that day. Of course, DOJ could file early.
JUST IN: Oregon and California AGs urge Judge Immergut in Portland to* wait on a pending en banc vote at 9th Circuit before ruling on DOJ's request to lift a TRO blocking deployment of CA, OR & other guard in Portland. Doc: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... (edited to correct)
