Yesterday was #SPOP S1 (full live react thread of me having way too much fun below)

Today is S2 and 3! (Starting a new thread because I'll tear my hair out if I have to keep scrolling through that post XD)

I think it might be interesting to try to orient in a nonviolent way but then have that nonviolence interrupted by the totality of wartime, but it’s always tricky juggling it, especially in a wip where you’re still finding the story!

The quandary: violence in some form will pervade worlds in which war can exist, systemically, ideologically, politically

That being said, acknowledging it and acknowledging its alternatives are both necessary so it’s up to you where these two disasters are going!

Not sure how I feel about a fight ring, since it still seems to centralize violence (perhaps intentionally :v)

There are also signs that Ashe isn’t who she thinks she is, which eventually culminates with someone point blank telling her and causes the events of the climax, and I guess that’s another gradient where Ashe continually tries to ignore the truth but the evidence keeps mounting

Ashe and Anni start with vaguely the same goal of getting to know each other/being friends. (Anni doesn’t really have the language for it because they’ve never *had* a friend before but the sentiment’s there)

They keep trying to achieve what they *think* the other wants which escalates

I’d say neither of them really change their beliefs in that way but towards the end of #LionGirl Ashe learns a little more about her past which causes a drastic shift in her approach to her goals and their scale

Book 2 is basically both of them dealing with the consequences of that shift XD

Ashe and Anni are both stubborn and for the most part they resist change because it’s hard and they believe they’re right
