Absolutely. Get rid of massive roads in city centres. (Also looking at Glasgow with the M-bloody-8 cutting through it).

My favourite is:

A nun is taking a bath when there’s a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" she asks.

A man replies "It's the blind man"

"Come on in, my child"

The man opens the door and walks in.

"Nice tits love. Where d’you want the blinds?"

Time to sell some of the records - first up, Pulp: Different Class (the original “choose your own cover” version) and some of the Saint Etienne limited editions.
You've been kidnapped
Your kidnappers allow you keep posting on social media to pretend everything is alright.
What would you post that would alarm your followers, without the kidnappers knowing you're asking for help?

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s cover of ‘Do You Remember the First Time?’ came up on my playlist tonight. It’s still one of my favourites which I never get bored of.

(Also, SE-B seems like a genuinely lovely person. A national treasure who should be protected at all costs).

It's great isn't it? We took advantage last Christmas as my nephew (visiting from Yorkshire) was desparate to go on the Subway, so we went one stop. But we went the long way round so he got to see all of them!

It can't be that bad. Yeah, he's holding his nose, but he's not making *the face*.

#AutChat A4: It’s definitely led me down my career path. As far as hobbies, I’m not sure whether it contributed to my musical interests (composing and playing many instruments) or whether it was the other way round - that my interest in music led to pattern recognition.
autchatmod.bsky.social
Q4: Do your pattern recognition skills contribute to your interests, hobbies, profession, or other parts of your daily life? #AutChat
mrmochriesmith.bsky.social
#AutChat A3: Data pattern recognition is immensely useful in my work (BI and Data Analytics). Music pattern recognition can be debilitating. I can’t listen to music without dissecting it into all of the different parts, and figuring out how it works. I can’t switch that off.
autchatmod.bsky.social
Q3: Have you found that your ability to recognize patterns helps you in problem-solving or decision-making situations? Are there situations in which it doesn’t help? #AutChat
mrmochriesmith.bsky.social
#AutChat A2: Not so much in behaviour, but I do pick up on patterns in music, again it’s what I can only describe as the ‘shape’ of it.
autchatmod.bsky.social
Q2: Do you find that your pattern recognition abilities extend beyond visual patterns to include other areas, such as auditory patterns or patterns in behavior? #AutChat
mrmochriesmith.bsky.social
#AutChat A1: Yes, I think I do notice patterns differently. When reviewing spreadsheets by eye I spot weird ‘shapes’ of data very quickly without using formulae or filters (just by a quick scan by eye).
autchatmod.bsky.social
Q1: Does pattern recognition impact your sensory experiences?

Do you notice patterns or connections that others may not?

Or considered another way, do you have sensory processing differences that impact your pattern recognition? #AutChat

Okay, so cheese twists are awesome. Tonight I discovered you can make them even better by dipping them in cheese and chive dip.

This is why I’m fat. And I have zero regrets.

Introduce yourself using only one food you refuse to eat, one movie you'll never watch again, & one song you can't stand:

Foie gras

Any of the Harry Potter films (I only watched them the first time, many years ago before JKR was a Big Problem, because my husband liked them)

Wonderwall

I’m gonna have to time it right and bring the dogs next time I’m down there visiting family.

There’s a Museum of Illusions, *and* dogs are allowed?!? Amazing. Our Skye would LOVE this!

White people saying the left shouldn't call racists racist boils down to a fundamental failure of empathy.

They don't experience racism so they don't think it's a big deal, they have experienced being called racist and hated it so they sympathise with the racists.

This needs to be made into a much cuter version of the Hungry Hungry Hippos board game.

I don’t think AI could ever understand why different approaches are valid, or why a particular way of transforming data works better for a particular set of circumstances.
mrmochriesmith.bsky.social
I’d say a lot of data related jobs are safe. Data is messy, often requires decisions or manual intervention, and there’s often nuance there too. I chair a group of data folks across the Scottish HE sector. We all have different approaches to statutory data and they’re all correct in different ways.

Also, if I die under suspicious circumstances in the near future, my husband totally did it to sell off the records.

The record collection is now catalogued on the record scanning app and on Discogs.

I’m selling it all and going on a big holiday 😂

(No I’m not, tempting though it may be!).

Next step… exports and visualisations!!!

Yep, my go-to is the 90 minute “mixed” cycle.

Tonight’s homemade pie was so good my husband said “We’ve been doing pie wrong!”

The secret? Cooking the filling in peppercorn sauce instead of gravy or stock. Such a simple substitution made such a difference.

“I don’t mind” is fine.

“I don’t mind”
“How about a Chinese takeaway?”
“No, I’m not in the mood for that” can get in the fucking bin though.
