Normally, the types of data accessed by an application using a service or API are determined by the developer.

OAuth scopes, in contrast, introduce a mechanism for the end user to allow or deny data access by an application.

The dev needs to determine scopes and communicate them to the end user.

one of the things that’s vaguely unnerving about watching baseball in 2025 is that every other ad is for some drug with a name that sounds like a tech company from 2002 that comes with a laundry list of side effects like “makes you blind” and “exposure to sunlight may cause skin to catch fire”

I've been so annoyed by AI tools and CSS that I made a CSS MCP that:

* consults with MDN for docs
* reports browser compat
* uses project Wallace to analyze your CSS

It is notable that while a lot of important people are running around right now braying about how AI can replace the work of creative people, pretty much no one is saying the same things about using AI to replace pro athletes - even though it would be very technically feasible, and save money.
