Economics professor and author @wagesofwins.bsky.social discusses why losses or setbacks in men’s sports have almost always been met with more investment, while women’s sports haven’t historically been given the time and money to thrive.

On a totally different note, Rodon has two goals, who is our top scoring centre half? We don't score many from that area.

Coleman?
Did anyone else sing "Happy Days" after reading Keira Barry's clubs?
NEWS 🗞️ | Emma Coates has selected a 23-player England U23s squad to kick off their 2025/26 European competition.

The Young Lionesses will face Germany away on Thursday 23 October (17:15 BST) before hosting Portugal in Northampton on Monday 27 October (19:00 GMT).
I'm really pleased for Matty Jones. He and his team deserve a bit of "luck"
Gutsy performance from Wales U21 in Austria yesterday. Backs against the wall after two heavy defeatws (6-3 and 7-0) they were 2-0 winners.

Goals from Biancheri and Popov. The former really seemed to know what he was doing!

Solid display from fully capped Kai Andrews and Charlie Crew in midfield.
I remember hearing of Sam Hammam haranguing a Cardiff City fan with a print out of what the fan had written on the internet.

One of my greatest lames to fame is Sitton ripping up an article I'd written for @wsc.co.uk, on camera
Club For a Fiver was 30 years old yesterday! And ever since it's done so much to shape how #LOFC is perceived, both from outside the club and within it.

So come and celebrate that birthday with us now. Thanks so much to the Ear Editor of the era for re-visiting the trauma @tomdaviese17.bsky.social
Still Crazy After All These Years
Cult classic documentary "Club For a Fiver" has just turned 30 years old. The man editing the 'Ear at the time salutes the longevity of a memorable, chaotic chronicle of a memorable, chaotic time.

Wales used to play Rush, Hughes and Saunders in the same team. Always great when international teams have to make difficult choices.

In the latest edition of @alternativewales.bsky.social (out now) I’ve written about searching for ‘good soccer’ in the guise of Eduardo Galeano and finding it in a third-tier Welsh midfielder with massive calves.
A copy of Alternative Wales magazine, open on a two-page article titled ‘Keepy-ups with the Joneses’ which features a photo of a non-league footballer placing the ball for a corner kick. The words of the article are blurred out.
I love this from Gerry Armstrong.

Northern Ireland have lost their last ten against Germany. They haven't beaten them since 1983 (when Gerry Armstrong was in the team!)
Belgium U21s have some very good players.

Could this be their golden generation? 🌟

Belgium U21s are wearing light blue shirts and brown shorts against Wales.

Like some sort of Coventry City tribute.
England 3 Cymru 0.

Bit of a waste of time. Hopefully a learning experience for the players and Bellamy (who is still an inexperienced manager).
A bit of Berks and Bucks County Cup action as Bracknell Town begin their defence of this illustrious competition against Spartan League opposition Risborough Rangers.

They won 3-1 and Hayden Vaughan scored from the halfway line again.
There's nothing wrong with a hype bus. I'm sure there'll be another along soon.
So much analysis on that 23rd player. The one who won't play.

It's like the Rubin Colwill talk now. There's just too many attavking options ahead of him. If he was in the squad he wouldn't play.

If I had a body like this I'd probably start the game with my top off.
Then we can do cricket, rugby and snooker, handball 😆

Imagine a European 11 in a football version of the Ryder Cup against the USA lol
Luke Jephcott now at Truro City. Once the future saviour of Welsh football. Christian Doidge took over the mantle, then Paul Mullin after a brief Ryan Hedges reign.
