5yo came to me sobbing because the other kids weren’t following the rules of her board game and I was like…you truly are my child.

"Trans issues aren't this shameful thing that Democratic consultants suggest we hide from, it's the same fight undocumented immigrants are fighting, or those who can't access health care are fighting...Political issues aren't siloes, they're all connected, and Mamdani recognizes that." ✊

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

OK, everyone who views this sign has now heard it from the world’s most assiduous Building Code Respecter: your anger is authorized. Please carry on.

You could simply investigate the origins of UC’s Time, Place, and Manner policies. I assure you that “fire safety” is not what’s happening here.

Having accompanied my own students to disciplinary hearings based on TPM policies—hearings to determine whether they’ll be expelled—I really don’t find this funny or excusable in the slightest. I invite anyone who suspects this is about fire safety to investigate Time, Place, and Manner at the UC.
miriamposner.com
It’s extremely not based on building codes. Please investigate the very recent implementation of UC’s Time, Place, and Manner policies. It’s really not ambiguous.

If posting a picture of what I see every day on the way to my office constitutes “rage bait,” then I would argue that the image is not the element that should trigger anyone’s rage, but the existence of the sign itself.

No. None of that. Since you’re interested, it’s in the campus quad, a historically common place for “public expression activities.” I’m a UCLA prof who passes the sign on the way to my office. For context, you’re welcome to look at any of the ongoing advocacy of the UCLA Faculty Association.

What context would be helpful here?

It's amazing that it needs to be said, but we should listen to autistic people about autism. (And autistic people, like any other group of people, also have a range of perspectives and experiences -- this is just one!) www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...
Contributor: Autism is not your enemy
It isn’t the misinformation that troubles autistic people the most. It’s the subtext that the world would be better off without us.

Found this just incredibly depressing, more than anything.
An easel sign reads, “UCLA
ATTENTION
No events are permitted in this area today. Per Policy 852, this location is NOT designated for public expression activities.
Individuals participating in an event or a public expression activity in this area are subject to discipline and/or arrest.
Scan for policy information.”

Found myself wondering, who designed this sign? What did they think about it? Who set it up? Did it not seem weird to anyone?

Extremely weird, but I kind of like it.
