Instead of rewarding people who use more energy, Rachel Reeves could do the following:

Tax emissions, use the income to pay everyone an allowance covering their fair share of emissions and, voila, you end child poverty, reduce income inequality, hit CO2 targets and it’s fiscally neutral.

Each of the top 1% produces 11 times the CO2 emissions of someone in the bottom 50% says OXFAM.

Why not do this instead?

An effective way to make those who produce more than their fair share of emissions pay money to those who produce less, while incentivising an overall reduction in emissions.

If you believe in the survival of the human race, you have to believe in the transition to renewable energy because fossil fuels will inevitably run out.

It makes sense to make the transition now, while we still have fossil fuels for backup and can stabilise the climate.

Where are the commentators and politicians asking why the EV guy wants to install a party that will kill net zero in Germany, just as he installed Trump in the US?

It’s something I’ve been analysing since before Trump’s inauguration.

Farage gave us Brexit and all that comes from it: smaller GDP, friction at the border, small boats and the Boriswave of immigration. While throwing away our EU citizenship and Euro and Schengen opt outs.

Maybe voters should think things through before being suckered by the guy again.
