There's plenty of migrant potential for Saturday and Sunday. The gusty wind will be a factor at times, although decreasing from the west. Saharan dust possible on Sunday. #teammoth

Olive-tree Pearl (Palpita vitrealis) @Bawdsey_Hall last night. Otherwise, it has been generally quiet for migrant moths for the past week. @BC_Suffolk @MigrantMothUK

Some pristine Merveille du Jour from our S.Yorks garden last night. Possible migrants were Scarce Bordered Straw, White-point and Rush Veneer. Female Feathered Thorns don't come to light too often, so it was nice to see one amongst the males. #TeamMoth @bcyorkshire.bsky.social

Another, fresher, Pearly Underwing was good but rarer still was only my 3rd record of Streak. #Northumberland #Teammoth

Couldn't believe it when we found a Death's-head Hawkmoth caterpillar on the Isles of Scilly. A serious wildlife ambition achieved! @sophieshrike.bsky.social #TeamMoth

Last night's migrant moth catch not really up to expectations - stayed too clear and moonlit for too long? An Old World Webworm, 2 Olive-tree Pearl, 3 Vestal and 5 White-speck the best of the less regulars at the Obs.

110 moths of 35 species in St Mellion on 6/10. Cooler & clearer than forecast. The 13th D. ramburialis (Migrant Sable) of the year, plus 2 Vestal. Also, a likely Caloptilia honoratella, which would be new to mainland Cornwall. Plus Four Spotted Footman, Clifden Nonpariel, Oak Nycteoline. #teammoth

Yes, the Met Office are still insisting it's cloudy, when it's completely clear! Unfortunately the temperature is plummeting here, however I did net a ramburialis above the MV light a few minutes ago.

No sign of the promised cloud cover here yet, but mild after a positively warm day so hopefully the 8 species currently in will be the start of a good couple of nights.
