4) SFF mystery is one of the hardest genres to write. You make up the rules of the world & it's easy to make the mystery either obvious or completely arbitrary and inscrutable based on your worldbuilding. Getting good mystery AND good SFF is a challenge. So respect the few writers who do it well.
