What I say to Masto loyalists: I had content taken down there 8-10x before they suspended my account. I’ve never had any post taken down on bsky in 2+ years or on Twitter in 17 years. I didn’t toot any differently than I skeet or tweet. I laugh at their Fediverse hubris and false sense of security

About this time a yr ago moderators of Masto’s flagship instance suspended my account for being anti-Israel. Once suspended not only did I lose control of my content, but I tried repeatedly to download it without success. I couldn’t even cut and paste to my current instance. I lost many mutuals, too

I would love to see the real numbers of people who give Masto a chance, become disillusioned, then choose either to leave or to stop tooting altogether instead of changing silos. When users learn that their content is not moving with them, I bet that’s enough to make them throw up their hands.
