Citizenship now!! We need this! We deserve this! We’ve earned it! Blood, sweat, and tears! If employed in the US today, give us citizenship!

No hes not blaming himself. It’s even better. He’s distancing from republicans!
What I lack in experience i make up for with integrity and what you lack in integrity can never be made up for with experience!

A Border Patrol agent was caught on video telling another to throw tear gas “for fun,” according to a court filing. They also mocked protesters and residents who were getting gassed.
This thread!
Court back in session for a restraining order hearing on the class action alleging inhumane conditions at the Broadview ICE facility.

Class rep Pablo Moreno González still on the stand for cross-examination by the govt's legal team.
How did he feel being held at Broadview, the plaintiff atty asks.

"Well I felt bad," Moreno González responds.

He says, at the atty's asking, that he understands he is a class rep and can serve to represent other people held at Broadview.

That's all the plaintiff atty has. Court taking a break.

A central part of ICE's strategy here is to keep detainees hungry and thirsty in squalor to incentivize them to sign self-deportation papers to escape their inhumane conditions. And of course, they also lie to their captives about what they are signing.
Agustin Zamacona, who speaks and reads English, further says an agent in Broadview tried to get him to sign a self-deportation form by telling him it was court paperwork.

"I saw they weren't court papers, they were for deportation, so I didn't sign it," he says.

When operation midway blitz started, the term “detained” was used to describe federal agents taking ppl. There has been a shift in the language being used among rapid responders and Chicagoans. Abduction/kidnapped feels more accurate bc there are no warrants, no badged agents, no due process.
Yeah maybe 40 years ago but at this point, for everyone’s safety! If you are employed with no criminal (not including misdemeanors) background. Instant citizenship must be given to repel these disgusting federal agents!
Not for incoming immigrants. Only the currently employed residents.
i do think Dems should moderate on immigration in the sense that Dems should redesign our immigration policy to work like people think it works: you wait for a while (but not forever) to get into the country and then you wait for a while (but not forever) to become a citizen.

Please note this is also in addition to ongoing kidnappings across the suburbs, with sightings reported in more of them than we can even list at the moment. This is daily life now, and there's no one central place reporting them all.
ICE/CBP is active in Lincoln Park right now, has been spotted near Damen/Clybourn at Costco + Jewel (this is in addition to a morning abduction reported at Costco earlier).

People believe grocery delivery drivers are being targeted and are asking folks to alert other vulnerable workers as well.

Now in Judge Gettleman's courtroom in Chicago, waiting for the morning hearing on this case - which alleges the Broadview, IL ICE facility is a "black hole" where detainees are deprived of legal counsel and subject to inhumane treatment - to begin.
Update: District Judge Robert Gettleman told the govt to return the immigration detainee plaintiffs in this lawsuit to IL by 4pm yesterday, as they had already been moved out of state.

I finally got word the plaintiffs were back in IL at ~7:45 am. A hearing in the case is set for 9:30 am today.
"You have no rights in here."

They called us a gang of foreign illegals and then traveled to neighborhoods they had never been to, to violate citizens and residents rights !

ICE are the foreign gang of criminals!
If we ever are blessed to have your voice to our story we hope you appreciate this young woman’s words just as much as we have. Culturally, we are more American than the ICE law breakers:

“My face aint hidden bitch! Im American you stupid bitch!”

We are not the criminals! Everything we’ve been accused of ICE has done. They’re a true gang of foreign (not local police) criminals violently assaulting citizens and even killing residents

Truly coming to our cities and homes and not respecting our laws or culture!

Exactly what they accused us of
West Ridge this morning, 11:37am—

Neighbors witnessed Border Patrol agents arresting a man who's been building a new staircase on their building.

"Wait, this is private property," the woman recording says.

"No, it's not," the agent replies, covering his face with his jacket.
The question of citizenship can be a life or death question. Those were not the stakes we were given when we came. No warning given that we can raise our children as citizens and be ripped away from them without due process. Not to mention possible public execution after dropping them off to school
A Tragic Homecoming
After nearly two decades in Chicago, Silverio Villegas González returned to Michoacán in a coffin. His death at the hands of federal agents left two families divided by borders, shattered with grief, ...

We came to this country to be its poverty-workers. Accepting that all our hard work would not bring us up in the world but itd be enough to raise a family. Resigned to the labor ‘la migra’ was a joke we would tell back when deportations included a judge. Citizenship was a mountain some would climb.
ICE has reportedly killed something around 30 people. While the propaganda says they are coming for criminals an resident Illinoisan, Silverio Villegas Gonzalez, had no criminal background when ICE shot him dead in the street.

We. Desperately. Need! Your Heroics!! Tell our story to this world!
It's the deadliest year for people in ICE custody in decades; next year could be worse
There have been at least 20 deaths in ICE custody in 2025, the deadliest year since 2004. As the agency is ramping up hiring and increasing detentions, concerns remain about how to stop the trend.

When I awoke, I was numb from the waist down. I could not feel my legs. I woke up vomiting. My body was weak and frail. The officers eventually took me out of the cell, but they refused to take me to see a doctor or to the hospital.
Lawsuit Alleges Inhumane Conditions at Broadview ICE Facility
Federal authorities moved two plaintiffs in the suit out of state; a judge has ordered they be returned Monday.

The monopoly on violence is what we give the state. Now we see how ICE is wielding that. Unimaginable in January.

No death penalty. No assisted suicide.

The state cannot condone the taking of human life. 4/4
3/4maybe

Im not saying anything about others choices. We’re taking about the states choice. Which is my business.

The state doesnt have a death penalty for a good reason. The state should not condone any intentional death because it’s a state. As we see exactly what the monopoly on violence means
2/2 is it cheaper to treat terminal illness or wait for medically-assisted-suicide? How long before private equity buys into another medical institution and does the math? What medical merger pivots; turns off terminal treatment slowly over a decade? Subsidize Illinoisans visit Oregon if you want
If we had a functional healthcare industry, yeah, this would be palatable. But as we see exactly the medical extortion that the industry extracts through subsidies, it’s not the time for the state to newly allow that industry a direct hand in our death. Also the incentives become curious. 1/2
