It's Banned Books Week! And we are so happy to hear that @georgetakei.bsky.social is the honorary chair this year! We'll have to read his book for Strange Land Book Club! The Codex Machina team has a couple of episodes out right now that focus on banned books and scholarship of banned books.

I visited @bodleian.ox.ac.uk Treasured exhibition yesterday. This painting is a fascinating example of changing attitudes. When acquired by library it was a portrait of Thomas More. When xrayed in 1955 a 16thC woman found beneath and the decision was taken to remove More #treasured #bodleian

I think it’s going to start with the Republican governors, and some representatives who can see how policies are hurting their constituents. And the Dems will get fired up over these DoJ charges. And the people will get fed up with all of it.
