o_O it's still going over there.

Behind every moderately-viral post is an artist horrified at being perceived, who is also quietly hoping at least a couple of these people find and back their kickstarter 🤣

I did a drawing based on a 100ish-year old photo of Louise Brooks and Hweened it up because we're still doing that. I like just the lines, too, so I'm including that as well.

Also, the next post is a version of what the esteemed Ms. Brooks was actually wearing in the photo.
A digital illustration based on a photo of Louise Brooks, standing on one leg, with her near leg raised and bent in front of her. Her arms are held up above her head and she's making kind of spooky claw shapes with her hands. He has her hair in her signature shiny blunt bob with bangs style. She's wearing something like a one-piece swimsuit but where the top part covering her chest turns into batwing shapes. She has on fishnets, garters, platform heels, and a dagger attached to the near garter on her thigh. She's also got fairly large bat wings spreading out from behind her back and curling around her. Her skin is shades of green and her wings and outfit are shades of purple, pink and red. The background is a grainy grayish green with streaks reminiscent of old film. There's also a large reddish stain or splatter over the background behind her and she's casting a shadow backwards as if against a wall. The same image as previously described, but only the black and white linework and the cast shadow

I posted on a FB and "Look at my dumb thing" turned into "content" and OHNO.

The urge to disappear into the woods is strong today.

Hen and Wren.
Ink and gouache on Fabriano Medioevalis, approximately 95 × 64 mm.
Drawing in black ink, primarily in silhouette, of a hen and a Wren regarding each other quizzically. The hen stands in a patch of wild grasses whilst the wren perches on a small, leafless shrub in front of her. The hen's comb and wattle are the only touch of red gouache. The drawing is finely wrought and intricate. The piece is roughly the size of a business card.

This tea is "Black Cats and Pointy Hats" - it's my regular afternoon jam. It's made by @dryadtea.bsky.social:

Love it. Highly recommend.

Pairs perfectly with halloween candy and working on my Baba Yaga book (still on kickstarter and rocking along!)
