It's somehow both wildly underreported and just out in the open that the vice president is either a neo-Nazi or, at a bare minimum, a neo-Nazi fellow traveler.

Fascinating. Politico notes that when notified of the texts, many state-level Republicans fired or condemned these cretins. Now Vance emerges to excuse the racism, and calls the reaction to it "pearl clutching."

He seems determined to purge the party of its last enclaves of decency.
‘College Group Chat’: JD Vance Dismisses ‘Pearl Clutching’ Over Young Republicans Leak to Attack Jay Jones
Liberals hit back at Vance's blunt dismissal of racist, antisemitic and misogynistic messages leaked from a Young Republicans group chat.

This is the thing. It’s deeply hurtful to both yourself and your partners to think of an ex this way! And if you do, you really shouldn’t be with anyone else until you can work your way through it. There is no worse feeling than realizing you’re dating a person who thinks this about an ex

YEP. I grew up in various cities in the South. It was never a secret.
Some ppl just were not paying attention
megpillow.bsky.social
We have a profound and unavoidable problem with white supremacy in this country in both parties. If you had been paying attention to the way both parties acted in 2020, the whiplash, the backtrack right, and the way Palestine has been handled, you’d see the evidence quite clearly
megpillow.bsky.social
Too many white ppl no matter their politics have always been like this. There was just a brief period when they stopped doing it openly because it was considered gauche. And if you were a white person who called them out on it, you were the Debbie downer who then got cut off socially
megpillow.bsky.social
Hate to break it to you, but not only have Republicans always been like this, so have many liberals. I can’t tell you how many times I heard liberal white boys in the 90s say horrific things when they thought they were alone with each other. And when called out, they said they were just joking
amandamarcotte.bsky.social
For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.

That’s why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed — because Young Republicans weren’t radical enough.

I’m sorry it comes across that way to you. I don’t feel superior. I feel a deep sadness at having dated too many men who pined for someone else while they were with me and then pined for me once I left. I just decided I’m not pining for anyone who left. I’d rather focus on ppl who are present

What’s most interesting is that much of this is not new information - it’s been covered in the hundreds of thousands of studies already done on COVID since 2020. Those of us who have been following the science know this.

So for everyone who has said that comparisons between HIV and COVID-19 are inflammatory and irresponsible, I’m sharing this new article in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine that does just that and finds some clear parallels:

www.ajpmfocus.org/article/S277...
A screenshot of article highlights:

•
HIV/AIDS and COVID-19 are preventable infectious diseases with chronic systemic impacts including immune system dysfunction.
•
Chronic inflammation, immune exhaustion, and accelerated biological aging are shared hallmarks of HIVI/AIDS and Long COVID/PASC.
•
Tissue reservoir persistence drives long-term damage in both HIV and SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 mirrors HIV-1 in its ability to evade immune defenses and cause chronic infection.
•
SARS-CoV-2 -associated neurological disorders (SAND) parallel HIV-associated neurological disorders (HAND).
•
Both pandemics exhibit failures in global solidarity and reveal inequities in healthcare access.

My take on “got away” is that often the woman does see through the guy or outgrows him, but the man ego needs to believe that she would have stayed with him, if only certain conditions had been different. To him, it’s chance - to her, it’s character
megpillow.bsky.social
This is also why my policy is that you don’t ever let an ex spin the block. We don’t play reruns on romance. We know how it ended the first time.
megpillow.bsky.social
I also know that I’m “the one who got away” for at least two men, despite me knowing neither of those relationships would have lasted. I will also never be a person who has a “one who got away” because anyone who decides I’m not for them is not for me 💗
megpillow.bsky.social
One of my hottest takes is that it is always better to be “the one who got away” from a man than the one who got caught by him because the kind of man who has a “one who got away” is the kind of man who never appreciates the woman right in front of him

1)You may remember the articles criticizing liberal students for their hesitancy to make friends with conservative students—alleging that they were less open-minded than their conservative counterparts.

This morning, the justices will hear oral arguments in a case that could represent a fatal blow to the load-bearing pillar of American multi-racial democracy:

The 1965 Voting Rights Act.
Voting rights are on the Supreme Court’s chopping block
Wednesday's case pits fanciful claims of racial harmony against the reality of ongoing discrimination.

I would love to think that publishers would learn to have a little less greed and a little more shame, but clearly I’m wrong

He deserved to grow old. He deserved the space to be more creative and share more art w/ the world. He deserved to be adorned in praise while he was still able to receive it in the physical. Luckily, music and spirit is eternal.

Eagerly looking forward to the day when liberals realize that much of the language they use against the left has always come from the far right. The guys in this chat are always who we have been battling. Not each other
