[1/15] The House GOP decimating Medicaid & stealing food from hungry kids in order to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest is a form of violence.

Also, there are myriad cases of *individual* House GOP members engaging in violence. To avoid the memory-hole, here's a House GOP Violence THREAD.

Amazing.

Susan Collins (R-Concerned) just sent out a this solicitation criticizing "millions from Hollywood elites" as latest fundraising report yesterday showed that she was raising oodles of money from Hollywood elites.

NEW:

A dramatic voiceover video the White House and Donald Trump shared last week claiming to show "chaos" in Chicago is littered with outdated footage from Florida, Texas, South Carolina, Nebraska, California and Arizona, an AFP investigation found.

A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

Unlike most US presidents, who make financial sacrifices for the job, Donald Trump is billions of dollars richer since entering the White House. How has he done it? The FT investigates his rapidly growing crypto empire — fuelled by his own policies.

NEW @motherjones.com: Nobody in that GOP group chat praising Hitler or making racist comments was a “kid,” as JD Vance claimed today

I tracked down their ages. (Weirdly, it seems nobody else did.)

Eight of the 11 in the group chat range from 24 to 35. Ages of others are unclear.

But… no “kids”!
No one in the GOP Hitler chat was a "kid"
We checked. Sorry, JD Vance.

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Here is GOP Rep. Mike Lawler, all smiles with the Chair of the NY State Young Republicans Peter Giunta who:

*Said ‘I love Hitler’

*Referred to blacks as ‘the watermelon people’

*Said ‘if your pilot is a she and she looks ten shades darker than someone from Sicily, just end it there.’

JD Vance can dismiss the Young Republicans as a college group chat.

But let's be clear: the group chat includes a State Senator, a Trump Admin official, and multiple Republican staffers — and some of the worst comments came from folks associated with Mike Johnson, Elise Stefanik, and Mike Lawler.
