The White House filmed this ad after the "Antifa roundtable" yesterday. I fear there's simply no way any of us can compete with the millions of dollars they're spending to make people believe Antifa is real.

Just beginning to read @nicolawriting.bsky.social latest book.
I have already experienced that precious overlapping which occurs when a great writer simultaneously invites you into their inner life and returns your own to you.

Day #6 of my Anglo-Greek adventures. Back at the #Benaki’s historical archives, completing my examination of the Ritsos-Stangos correspondence. Two excellent books of translations by #Stangos of #Ritsos’s work emerged from often angry correspondence—conducted in very different styles of handwriting.

Day #2 of my ten Anglo-Greek days. A great morning at the 9th Greek-British Symposium, in #Cambridge, where I heard a thought-provoking keynote by Greek Defence Minister, Nikos Dendias, and a stimulating if gloomy panel discussion on geo-political trends.

We’ve a hedgehog house tucked away under the shrubs — and it’s one of the best things we ever added to the garden.

Undoubtably, the Grandiflora and Spencer hybrids offer a greater range of colour, a greater solidity and length of stalk and more flower-heads to a stalk, nor can it be said that they lack the fragrance which gives them their popular name.

October ’52 A complaint commonly brought against many of the modern or 'improved' varieties of favourite old flowers is that they have lost their scent. In some cases this complaint is justified; in others not. #gardening

Unconstitutional, damaging to our democracy and--last time I checked--murder is a crime. Let's not gussy it up and call it acts of war. This is murder.

This is the FIFTH time Trump has carried out an illegal bombing in the Caribbean.

Using the military to execute alleged criminals with no due process or input from Congress is brazenly unconstitutional and damaging to our democracy.

First published in 1956, and written by Sir Sacheverell Sitwell, 6th baronet (1897-1988, brother of the eccentric Dame Edith), this remains an excellent bibliographical record of two centuries of finely-illustrated flower books from around the world.
