Oh! I almost forgot. Here is a Timelapse video too of the mist flowing over these two small Bronze Age hills that were once fortified and inhabited thousands of years ago.

All I want is a quaint château in the French countryside, a vintage copy of Bram Stoker‘s Dracula, the rumble of thunder in the distance, a whistling kettle on the stove, an owl keeping watch, and a basket of emotional support croissants.

In Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897), Dr Seward’s journals are famously ‘Kept in Phonograph’. Join me for a nerdy deep dive in which I, brandishing back-of-an-envelope math, calculate the cost of Seward's phonograph habit, & encounter a creature more uncanny than Dracula himself! 1/14 #Gothic

What a lovely example of a period glove. As it happens, I made minor use of this in my mid-Victorian wip as it still held true in that era. The gentleman's gift was more durable than his affections, however - no hero, he!

Three DNFs in a row, yikes. So today I turned to The Fallen Fruit by @shawntelle.bsky.social, which I had been saving for deep autumn. On the fourth page I felt my breath pause at the tickle of instinct, and my brain began that longed-for hum. 1/3

Remember, you are not alone.
Your community is out there.
Find them in quiet bookstores & noisy cafes.
Find them shambling in mossy forests.
Find them haunting crumbling castles on the coast, under the dim light of stars.

Not a cover I would have expected to associate with this author! Does it fit the tone of the story? (Hard to imagine, but I haven't read one of her stories in a while.)
