A painted cartoon family portrait of various multicellular organisms complete with studio lighting and classic brown mottled backdrop. In the back are two bluish balls of cells and a string of filastereans all with beady eyes and cute mouths. Flanked by a pair of green choanoflagellates with long lash-like purple tails, are a big happy sponge and a comb jellyfish with iridescent "combs" running up its pink, translucent body. They have their arms and tentacles on a trio of modern animal "kids." A white goose, a blue eyed, orange kitten, and a particularly surly goth lizard in black and white makeup and a skull t-shirt. A large man in brown in mishmashed bits of green armor over brown padded clothing stands holding a large club in front of him horizontally like a barbell. The club is a long wooden branch capped with a large studded iron weight made to look like a clenched fist. The fist grasps a long spike, which acts as the weapons serious business end.

He wears a red and yellow shirt with a dark stripe running diagonally through it, bearing the mark of his company, the Sons of Drfus: A green muscled arm bent at the elbow and holding a club. His armor is all embellished with grotesque faces. From the sneering goblins on the back of his wrists, the fanged beast on his one pauldron, to his helmet, a 15th century sallet made to look like a goblin face with long flat tusks on the visor, which is lifted slightly. Two small yellow eyes peer out of the darkness inside the helmet. A painted bust of woman in a futuristic armored space suit. Her helmet is spherical yellow glass lit from inside the lower portion, which is made of the same metal armor as the rest of her suit and extends to protect the back of her head. She is looking out from underneath a neon green visor that is partially flipped up. The background is dark with a soft neon purple light behind her. The looming, judgy face of a cartoon cat dramatically lit from above in bright teal light and from below in scary red. Her big stylized eyes look down at you with pity.
Reverted to a 2024 driver and all is well, but come on man.
Updated my wacom driver and now it's like the touch strip, keys, and even the toggle button are set to "zoom in" 🙃
Seriously. Even the little buttons on the upper right make it zoom in
Yeah I’m trying to revert now. I only updated because my settings were getting reset all the time 🫠

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

My family still asks if I have more but the past few years the cherries have been too small to stuff.
I still remember the year I bought a half bushel of cherry peppers for like 5 bucks. We were making shooters all summer long
And there's still a 2 qt container of peppers I couldn't be bothered to slice because they were small. Living 5 minutes from our regional market has been such a boon for my need to have a spicy pickled topping for everything.
Made six quarts of pickled jalapenos this morning 🌶️

most outlets report on celebrity collabs by naming the celebrity up front and then mentioning their collaborators a few paragraphs down, if at all. it is a common practice that devalues creative work. anything that distances readers from the fact that PEOPLE MAKE BOOKS is happening to our detriment

with respect, the publisher will not create the illustrations
37 Ink will turn Taryn Delanie Smith’s (pictured) viral TikTok sketches into an illustrated book, Del Rey takes YA author Elizabeth Lim’s adult debut, and more in this week’s deals.

What a legend!

My favorite bit of trivia about the iconic Goonies poster is that he created 7 different versions that could be swapped in for the promotion of the film.
A series of illustrations made for promotion of Goonies, where the cast hangs from a cave stalactite and each other in a descending chain. There are 6 different versions on blank backgrounds that featured each cast member at the foremost position of the chain. Also included is the clean background, the final version used most often, and Drew's signature.
RIP
One of my favorite follows back on twitter for the peeks behind the scenes on all his artwork.
Just saw on IG that Drew Struzan has died. RIP to the man who painted my childhood.

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't

I cannot yell about this magical girl ghost detective series enough
Netflix has MoNoNoKe series and movies T_T

I either lost mine or it's buried in a box of DVDs somewhere 😭
I owe my entire career to twitter--or more importantly the science writer "tweet-ups" where we'd all meet.

Social media was so different then! And combined with moving away from the city and covid, I can't help feel like I lost everything that had kept me connected and successful.
Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?
I've been holding off on watching the second movie until my plate clears a little so I can properly lose my shit over it
