People assume that unemployed people “don’t contribute” because they have nothing to contribute, because they’re lazy, because they’re bad people, etc., but it’s just that our economy doesn’t maximize contribution, it maximizes profit. Meanwhile those doing real harm in high-paying jobs are admired.

Today time slowed down again, standing in the corner of a tram intersection in Helsinki, the wind picked up and started to tear yellow leaves from the (linden?) trees by Brahe sports field, and the leaves filled the air for that moment, a thick golden cloud in the otherwise grey day

Yesterday riding an escalator I had one of those moments where time suddenly subjectively slows down for a moment, and I felt like I was in a Wong Kar-Wai film, the neon lights art illuminating me, and everything went quiet.
