Yellow Scale (1907) by František Kupka (Czech, 1871–1957). Self-portrait, showing the artist holding a book in one hand and cigarette in the other, a glimpse of his personality. Known for his eccentricity and sensual nature, deeply interested in spiritualism and the occult.
Really appreciate the sort of wistful far-off look happening here
manifesting their sex scene in the missing Monmouth chapter (it's bad missionary and Hal's orgasm rips through him like an exorcism). Hal you moron why didn't you stay with your dad at the end of this book and jerk him off 😭 #selfishungratefulsons
thinking about the "Henry Henry" for two seconds and once again screaming crying clawing the walls over: "Just when he felt Henry might give up, Hal began to mirror precisely what Henry did, so that neither of them was fully at fault when their tongues touched."
desperate to be Richard's wife but forced to be his little boyfriend smh this is why he had to go off and breed a wife of his own (his son) and teach him the importance of monogamy (ruin him for all other men). In this essay -
There is another world in which Henry Bolingbroke was one of Richard II's little boyfriends and everything was different. Not better but different

Hey, don't be sad. Stoic grumpy masculine character moaning and whimpering, okay?

I think #Hansry woke something up in me.
Because this happened in just a few days.
It dragged me out of a horrible art block.

Last few figures. I'm trying to be looser and more relaxed, less precious
Re the ESC's Henriad cycle: I am grateful that they let Michael Pennington keep his naturally curly blond hair for Hal, which is perfect, but I am agonized in perpetuity that he did not keep that look for Richard II as well. Henry IV being haunted by his son's face being RICHARD's face too...
The English Shakespeare Company's "Wars of the Roses" cycle is both (1) criminally underrated, and (2) absolutely worth watching if you can snag the DVDs.
Posters for the National Theater of Korea's production of Macbeth (Designed by Yuni Yoshida, photographed by Noh Juhan). Love that in the 400 years of Shakespeare performances people are STILL designing posters and playbills that hit you like you're experiencing the play for the first time.

this is happening to men all over the country and it is wrong
Re-reading Henry Henry for fic note taking purposes and increasingly convinced Michael Pennington with an actual tidy haircut is the perfect likeness for Henry Lancaster
