Think about why they think rape is “cool”—well. Nuff said.

In part my little rant was inspired by that Politico report about the racist young GOP “leaders,” who certainly seem like the types no woman would want to go out with.

—that the complainer typically lacks the qualifications necessary to get the kind of job he’s complaining about. So the complaint is really: “No one gave me a job that I wanted, which I have not bothered to train for.” Funny how similar that is to the complaint that women refuse to date him.
macloo.bsky.social
There are also the white-collar jobs and skilled jobs that are held by qualified black and brown Americans and by women that the whiners claim were “stolen” from white men. If we examined the qualifications of every complaining person with a racial or gender grudge, I think we would find—
macloo.bsky.social
We talk a lot about the supposedly stolen jobs that the complaining Americans would not do anyway—agriculture, planting and harvesting, and cleaning, dishwashing, etc. The complainers don’t even want those jobs but they’re mad that immigrants are doing them.
macloo.bsky.social
I was thinking about the whole “they’re taking our jobs” claim. The first question to the complaining person should be: don’t you have a job? What is your job? Then whose jobs are “they” supposedly taking?

Whenever someone is trashing another person based on the other’s race, ethnicity, religion, language, etc., we need to turn that back on the trasher and find out why they feel so threatened by the other. What are they so afraid of?

It is alarming that the Trump Admin & rogue ICE agents would abduct a 13-year-old child from Everett, transport him to a facility over 500 miles away & reportedly subject him to harrowing conditions.

They must stop violating our constitutional rights.

My full statement:
A graphic that reads:

“It is absolutely alarming that the Trump Administration and its rogue ICE agents would abduct a 13-year-old child, transport him to a facility over 500 miles away without his family, lawyer or a court knowing, and reportedly subject him to harrowing, inhumane conditions, including inadequate nutrition and sleeping on a concrete floor with an aluminum blanket while still healing from a broken foot.

“He is a 7th-grader who should have been met with compassion and care, not criminalized and sent to an adult prison.

“The Trump Administration must stop violating the constitutional rights of our constituents. I join the chorus of community voices demanding basic adherence to due process, preservation of this child’s constitutional rights, and his immediate return to his family.”

They're trying to prevent the student newspaper from printing news, period. Not just a particular story.

"The Media School directed us to print no news in the paper... nothing but information about homecoming — no other news at all, and particularly no traditional front page news coverage."

Indiana University fires IDS
adviser amid push to control
student newspaper's content The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

Trump was caught on a hot mic arranging a meeting between a foreign head of state and Eric Trump, who runs the Republican's family business.

Isn’t this exactly the sort of thing GOP members of Congress used to care about? www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

"During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she 'doesn’t look like' a Greeley."

www.yahoo.com/news/article...
Chicago Tribune: Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!

The University of Texas-Austin is beginning a process to eliminate the Black Studies, Latino Studies, and Gender Studies departments in the College of Liberal Arts. This is a grave threat to the educational liberty of students, faculty, staff, and the people of Texas. 1/

People have no idea how many homeless people in this area are serving their fast food or checking them out at the grocery store lane.

Want to solve homelessness? Build a lot more affordable housing and pay living wages.

2/ Not everywhere, of course, and not for everyone. But the ideas about fair treatment and opportunities for all were spreading. Ideas about tolerance for religions, personal lifestyles and gender realities, neurological differences that impact social functioning. We were becoming more accepting.

This. I see a deliberate dismantling of the structures of equity and inclusion that I had observed emerging and growing ever since the 1960s. We in America were building and participating in a kinder, fairer world. Racial, socioeconomic and climate disparities were slowly improving.

It is impossible to understand the rage and furor that is fueling the Trumpist project without grappling with this first: They really believe the “leftist” revolution has successfully taken over the institutions which are now being used to subvert the “will of the people” and destroy “real America.”
