The judge is there to ensure it's apolitical. You can tell it's removed from politics because the previous judge in that role, Toddrick Barnette, was climbing the ladder to the highest paid employee under Mayor Frey, the guy made into a strong mayor by Barnette's appointees to the commission.

Donors are mostly local people/progressive orgs. But yes, one funder is a national progressive org. They're also massively outspent by the constellation of Frey-aligned PACs. (Sorry I'm gonna block you now too because I've looked at your timeline and I'd rather not hear from you again)

I SUPPORT STEVE BRANDT. He's a hardworking person of integrity. He's worked to reduce the increase in property tax by urging Mpls to tap into budget reserves. He persuaded the mayor and city council to examine other potential revenue sources.

I just summarily, peremptorily, even capriciously blocked a so-called “journalist” account with extreme prejudice. Why? Because they talk about how Dems need to recruit “normal” and “regular” candidates who appeal to “normal” and “regular” voters. I FEEL GREAT!

About 70 kids most years. I scare them by waving broccoli and cackling demonically, while guardians out on the sidewalk guffaw. Then I give them good treats while the kids patiently tell me what their costumes are. I’m so out of pop culture I only get about half the references. It’s a good time.
