elanor once told me she loved my music & found inspiration in it and uh...that might be one of the best compliments i've ever gotten because i absolutely worship what she does

immaculate production, raw emotion, chef's kiss
irrevocably drubbed by lust hag on vinyl.

Finally all physical copies of Requiem (and also the amazing new Mycorrhizal album) have arrived at Liminal Dread Productions and EU copies will ship over to Okända Öden! So everyone who bought a copy should get it soon!

Glippity gloppity glee
His hand was covered in pee
He reached out for a shake
And to my stout dismay
The one covered in piss was now me

This is it. Couldn’t agree more. I work at a record shop as a buyer so it’s my job to stay up on what’s coming out.

I do listen to a lot of new music (partially for my radio show) but I'm actively searching it out w/ the hope of finding the next album that keeps me coming back, makes me buy the vinyl, & dive into more of the band's discography if I'm unfamiliar with it.

I was thinking this a while ago. Like, when I was younger I had to leave my house and hope one of the record stores in town had what I was looking for, and if I found it, it was like I completed a quest. Definitely felt more special when everything wasn't available with a couple taps on my phone

Y’all I am by no means saying you should stop discovering new music 😭 I’m simply suggesting being intentional about which albums you listen to. Don’t just let an algorithm make a playlist for you. Buy a damn cd/tape/vinyl. Listen so much that you want the t shirt
lusthag.bsky.social
I genuinely believe it is best to enjoy less music. Re-listening to one of my favorite albums will always take priority over discovering new music. Streaming has normalized the over-consumption of music to the point that most people listen to things once and never again.

It’s not a big deal, this happens any time I suggest consuming a bit less music and not just streaming playlists

I am getting frustrated on your behalf by the "but but" responses that clearly didn't actually read your post.

Y'all please do better than this and stop reading what she didnt say 😭

I think you may have misinterpreted what I meant by this post😅 I am by no means saying “don’t listen to new music”
lusthag.bsky.social
I agree it is! I work at a record store and am one of a couple buyers so it’s my job to stay up on new music. I’m not saying to not check new stuff out. I do think streaming culture has undeniably changed how people consume music though.
lusthag.bsky.social
Yeah I’ve never had a streaming account and I never will. I still use iTunes for my music files 😂

Spotify is literally just doomscrolling for music
lusthag.bsky.social
I had to adopt this mentality as well a while back. I work at a record shop and I am part of the buying team so it’s literally my job to stay up on new music and constantly listen to new albums all day every day. I don’t really feel like I know any album until I’ve heard it like 3-5 times.
lusthag.bsky.social
Yeah it’s okay to slow down a bit😅 I often need this reminder myself
lusthag.bsky.social
Go listen to a favorite you haven’t heard in a while today
lusthag.bsky.social
And always prioritize listening to what your friends recommend over just trusting an algorithm.
lusthag.bsky.social
Save your money, buy a cd, put it in your car or player, and just listen to it over and over and over until it’s like a second language. I’m not saying to stop discovering new music, but just…. Slow down a bit. Its good for you.
