The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

Masking in public, especially when you're indoors or around a lot of people outdoors (such as at a concert/protest or other crowded event), is a really easy way to 1) show solidarity with disabled and chronically ill people and 2) not get anyone sick.

COVID is still here and still dangerous.

This is the kind of book that can help kids connect with the literary canon and see themselves in the classics. Banning it won't stop kids from being gay or trans but will make them feel more alone.

Diverse books are often diverse in more than one way, and banning books with trans rep can take all sort of other rep with it when authors are writing intersectionally.

It's still #BannedBooksWeek, and today I'd like to celebrate the book Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi. It's a great story about two girls from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds overcoming their negative first impressions of each other and falling in love.

It's #BannedBooksWeek, and I think banning nonfiction like this really gives away the game: book banning is a campaign to try to limit people's access to facts and perspectives that don't fit a narrow narrative that people in power can control.
